Research ethics policy

EJI considers only work that has not been published elsewhere. Therefore, authors for a submitted article should submit a declaration statement to inform EJI editors that the submitted work and its essential substance have not previously been published and are not being considered for publication elsewhere. In addition, EJI editors accept submission of articles for sub-group analyses, meta- and secondary analyses, are clearly identified as analyses of data that have already been published. In the submitted article, authors should clearly identify the corresponding author.

Authors of a submitted manuscript should include information about research funding agents. For manuscript reporting clinical trials the registration number should be included.

In the acknowledgement, authors should submit an authorship statement for their role in the study including, 1) contributions to conception and design, or acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data; 2) drafting the article or revising it critically for important intellectual content; and 3) approval of the final version to be published. Individuals who do not meet the EJI criteria for authorship should be accredited in the acknowledgement.
